Remember Remember the… Charlie Froud Foundation Ball!
Posted on December 19, 2011 in: News
Instead of freezing in a field on the 5th of November the LBA team headed to the Charlie Froud Foundation Ball at the Aztec West Hotel for a night of cocktails, dancing and bidding on a life sized photo of David Beckham! The girls really enjoyed the night, as did everyone else, raising £5378 for Charlie’s charity! Congratulations on such a resounding success to both Heather (our operations director) and David her husband for organising such a brilliant night, we can’t wait for the next one!
Sophie’s Sabbatical Update News!
Posted on October 4, 2011 in: News
Sophie has kept in touch with news of her exciting travelling adventures! She is in Malaysia and managed to conquer the summit of Mount Kinabalu on the island of Borneo in South East Asia. At 4095 metres above sea level she said ‘the altitude was a killer and every few steps I was trying to get my breath back’! This picture shows Sophie at the summit … yay!
She then travelled to Terangganu with a week on Tioman Island diving, swimming and snorkelling and is hoping to go back to Australia for Xmas to be with family or friends.
Missing you Sophie! xx
A BIG Congratulations………
Posted on July 11, 2011 in: NewsTo our Recruitment consultant Gemma Smye and her mum on their completion of the Race for Life 10km and 5km respectively, in aid of Cancer Research. Running in memory of her father who unfortunately lost his brave fight to cancer earlier this year, Gemma completed the charity race in 49 minutes! Through sponsorship, Gemma raised over £300 and her mum raising a similar amount in aid of the charity. Well done ladies, fantastic achievement!
Well What a 10K Race Day for the LBA Team!
Posted on May 18, 2011 in: News
For lots of very good reasons, several members of the team were unable to run in the Bristol 10K on the day but everyone was there supporting those who were still fit and able!
Lucy ran an amazingly quick personal best of 49 minutes, just beaten by Lisa’s husband Carey who ran for the 1st time and apparently thoroughly enjoyed himself. (He must have been delirious!) He was joined at the last minute by a friend of his Dale, as a substitute for Heather who had injured her back. Neither even broke a sweat. Lucy so nearly beat them both but they spotted her overtaking and sprinted to the finishing line!
Last year Lisa ran the 10K in 1 hour 4 mins which she improved on immensely with a personal best of 52 minutes this year. Katie also ran it 12 minutes quicker than 2010, with another PB – this time 56 minutes, absolutely fantastic girls!
Other friends and family ran with us on behalf of charity “the Charlie Froud Foundation” and it was a very special morning – well done to everyone! Congratulations also to anyone of our candidates and clients who ran the Bristol 10K, it’s a great achievement.
Lucy Bristow is Water Skiing the Irish Sea!
Posted on April 20, 2011 in: News
A madcap, charity fundraising adventure is being planned for this September! Lucy is joining David Froud and two other crazy friends to Water Ski the Irish Sea from St Davids to Wexford. This is in aid of The Charlie Froud Foundation and they hope to set a Guinness World record along the way!
David Froud, Tony Edwards, Phil Sullivan (Sully) and Lucy Bristow will leave St Davids, skiing ‘tag’ across the 67 miles until the last mile or so when all 4 be pulled together into Wexford. This is expected to take in the region of 5 hours and is totally weather dependant. The date that the ski happens will also be determined by the sea conditions as it can get very choppy out there so the team are going to be standing by from late August to mid-September.
As far as we know it has never been done before – probably because both the physical and mental challenge is enormous, especially as the age of the challengers, to put it delicately, is not exactly the first flush of youth at 42 – 50!
If you are interested in knowing more please go to www.thecharliefroudfoundation.org where there are more details of the event and ways to sponsor the team if you’d like to.
